TREATED IN DULUTH, GA (NORTH OF ATLANTA) AT GEORGIA EYE PHYSICIANS & SURGEONS
As part of our commitment to maintaining your vision and maximizing your overall eye health, it may be necessary for Dr. Segal, or one of his associates at Georgia Eye Physicians and Surgeons, to take fundus photos. These digital images are painlessly captured using specialized photographic equipment so that we can fully examine the interior anatomy of the eye, including the retina, vitreous, choroid, and optic nerve. Fundus photos may also be used to detect abnormalities on the surface or inside the eyes.
While disorders of the fundus can typically be diagnosed after examination through the pupil by Dr. Segal or Dr. Lay using and ophthalmoscope, fundus photos can help to provide a baseline for monitoring and managing the progression of diseases of the eye, such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
