Floaters

TREATED IN DULUTH, GA (NORTH OF ATLANTA) at Georgia Eye Physicians & Surgeons

Floaters consist of a small grouping of cells inside the vitreous (clear, gel-like fluid between the retina and the lens) that creates a cloud-like shadow or specks on the retina and moves in your field of vision. While floaters are a relatively harmless condition, don’t generally impair vision and are likely to disappear over time, it is important to have an eye examination to make sure it is not an indicator of a more progressive eye disease or a retinal detachment. Increasing floaters are often a warning sign of severe ocular disease and should be examined immediately.
